Eficácia do treino funcional baseado em circuitos na aptidão física e depressão em estudantes adolescentes: um ensaio controlado aleatorizado

Resumo

Introdução: Os programas de exercício escolar parecem estratégias viáveis ​​para combater os níveis crescentes de inatividade física, obesidade e depressão entre os jovens colombianos.
Objectivo: Analisar a eficácia de um programa de treino funcional (TF) baseado em circuitos na aptidão física e na depressão de adolescentes de uma escola pública de Medellín (Colômbia).
Metodologia: Foi proposto um estudo controlado randomizado numa amostra de 40 estudantes adolescentes (12 a 17 anos) de Medellín, Colômbia. Os participantes foram alocados ao Grupo Experimental (GE) (n=20), que substituiu a aula de educação física por um programa de TF baseado em circuitos realizado durante 12 semanas, duas vezes por semana, durante 60 minutos. O Grupo de Controlo (GC) (n=20) continuou com aulas regulares de educação física focadas na dança e coreografias. Avaliámos o índice de massa corporal, a aptidão cardiorrespiratória com o teste de Cooper e a resistência muscular com testes de campo (flexões de braços, abdominais e agachamentos). Os sintomas de depressão foram avaliados através do inventário de Beck.
Resultados: Não foram observadas alterações significativas no consumo máximo de oxigénio, na resistência muscular ou nos sintomas depressivos após a intervenção no GE e no GC (p > 0,05). Não foram observadas diferenças entre os grupos para todas as variáveis ​​analisadas (p > 0,05). Discussão: Estudos futuros devem considerar diferentes variáveis ​​de treino ou alternativas de saúde na escola.
Conclusões: 12 semanas de FT baseado em circuitos não provocaram alterações na aptidão física e nos sintomas de depressão em comparação com as aulas regulares de educação física.
