Um modelo de equação estrutural liga fatores físicos e psicológicos em Sepak Takraw

Introdução: Sepak Takraw integra voleibol, futebol e artes marciais, o que exige grande agilidade e coordenação. Pesquisas anteriores isolaram fatores físicos e psicológicos, levando a uma compreensão desarticulada dos determinantes do desempenho.
Objectivo: Este estudo teve como objectivo explorar as relações entre os parâmetros de força e o desempenho do Sepak Takraw, avaliar o papel da auto-confiança e construir um modelo integrativo que esclarecesse a interacção de factores físicos e psicológicos.
Metodologia: Setenta e sete atletas universitários do sexo masculino de Sepak Takraw foram submetidos a avaliações de força dos membros inferiores, estabilidade do tronco, potência da parte superior do corpo, autoconfiança e desempenho, empregando a modelação de equações estruturais para investigar relações variáveis e técnicas iniciais para determinar os efeitos de mediação.
Resultados: A força dos membros inferiores influenciou significativamente a autoconfiança (β=0,37) e o desempenho (β=0,29); A autoconfiança também teve um impacto notável no desempenho (β=0,48) e mediou parcialmente a relação força-desempenho (efeito indireto=0,18).
Discussão: A força dos membros inferiores foi vital, uma vez que afetou o desempenho direta e indiretamente, aumentando a autoconfiança, e aproximadamente 38% do impacto total da força dos membros inferiores no desempenho foi atribuído à autoconfiança.
Conclusões: Este estudo concilia os determinantes do desempenho físico e psicológico no Sepak Takraw e sugere que os treinadores devem adotar estratégias focadas tanto na melhoria física como no desenvolvimento da confiança para otimizar o desempenho atlético neste desporto distinto.
