Resumen

Introducción: la valoración de la condición física funcional, del riesgo de sarcopenia, fuerza prensil y el deterioro cognitivo, en personas mayores, son fundamentales para determinar el estado de salud, la calidad de vida, el nivel de dependencia y el riesgo de enfermedades.

Objetivo: Determinar condición física funcional, del riesgo de sarcopenia, fuerza prensil y el deterioro cognitivo en un grupo de mujeres mayores que participan en programas de actividad física en la ciudad de Bogotá.

Metodología: Estudio descriptivo, transversal que conto con 631 personas mayores seleccionadas mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia a las cuales se les valoro mediante la batería Senior Fitness Test, el cuestionario de riesgo de sarcopenia SARC-F, dinamometría y el cuestionario Mini Mental State Examination.

Resultados: Los resultados indican el buen estado de capacidades como la fuerza y el equilibrio dinámico lo cual se conectó con los resultados de evaluación de riesgo de sarcopenia y fuerza prensil. Se puso en evidencia la necesidad de trabajos específicos de resistencia y flexibilidad, dado su bajo nivel y la incorporación de estrategias de prevención del deterioro cognitivo.

Discusión: En las variables del estudio en mujeres mayores activas, se esperaban valores similares a estudios previos; sin embargo, se evidenció una amplia variabilidad en los resultados.

Conclusiones. Este estudio puede ser un indicador del impacto de los programas de promoción de la actividad física en Bogotá y su efecto en el estilo de vida de las personas valoradas.
