Introduction: Physical education and sports practices are recognized as effective means to enhance coexistence and respect in diverse educational settings. Their connection with interculturality and social behavior has garnered increasing attention in scientific literature.
Objective: To bibliometrically analyze the intersection between interculturality, social behavior, and sports practice, with a focus on educational and recreational contexts.
Methodology: A qualitative methodology with a hermeneutic approach was employed, based on a systematic review of databases such as Scopus, Dialnet, Redalyc, SciELO, and Google Scholar. Fifty-six studies were selected based on criteria of relevance, topicality, and scientific rigor. The data was organized in analytical matrices and categorized according to emerging thematic cores.
Results: The findings revealed an expanding body of academic work on the use of sports and play as pedagogical tools for the development of intercultural skills, social inclusion, and citizenship building. Most studies focused on school-based or extracurricular programs. Gaps in Latin American literature and limited longitudinal evidence were identified.
Discussion: The results aligned with previous studies highlighting the integrative potential of intercultural physical education. Common limitations, such as the lack of systematization of experiences and limited long-term follow-up, remain.
Conclusions: It was concluded that physical education, from a critical intercultural perspective, is a key resource for promoting inclusion and recognizing cultural diversity in educational environments.
