Objective: To achieve the ultimate goal of this study, to determine the influence of a recovery program on reducing levels of psychological stress in female handball players, and to determine the positive influence of a recovery program on functional variables in female handball players.
Methodology: The researcher used the experimental method because it would give the capabilities needed to study this problem. The researcher selected the research sample of 14 young female players aged 15-17 who were part of the Baghdad Rusafa II Education Handball Team in the 2023-2024 season, representing the original community.
Results: There were statistically significant differences in the pre- and post-measurements, with a significant difference in favour of the post-measurement. This means treatment effectively reduced the intensity of psychological stress and some functional variables, which benefited athletic performance in competitions.
Conclusion: The research findings on the means and predicted mean for the research sample were different, as were the findings on the means of scale items.
