Abstract

Presentation: This research exposes the analysis of the scientific literature in the knowledge domain of information and communication technologies and physical education in the period from 1995 to 2017.

Objective: To describe the behavior of scientific production in the area of ICT and Physical Education in the period from 1995 to 2017.

Methods: The study is based on the bibliometric analysis of the literature published in the main repositories of scientific publications. A total of n = 521 contributions was collected. The selection was carried out manually and included articles, presentations at events, theses, books and book chapters. The analysis was based on bibliometric indicators (Personnel, production, dispersion, visibility, collaboration, and obsolescence).

Findings: There is a high degree of national collaboration and a low level of international collaboration. The most productive authors and the most relevant publications are determined. An analysis is made about the maturity of the domain where it is considered that we are in the presence of a still growing domain of knowledge.
