Resiliência, autoconceito e IMC: como estes fatores moldam o bem-estar dos adolescentes espanhóis

Fundo. Estudos demonstraram que os adolescentes são uma população de risco para episódios que diminuem o seu bem-estar mental. A resiliência é uma ferramenta fundamental para enfrentar as adversidades, melhorar a saúde mental e é um importante preditor do autoconceito. Além disso, um dos problemas de saúde mental na pré-adolescência é o aumento do índice de massa corporal.
Métodos. Por este motivo, o objetivo deste artigo foi identificar as relações entre a resiliência, as dimensões do autoconceito e o índice de massa corporal. Os pré-adolescentes (N=446) reportaram as relações entre a resiliência, as dimensões do autoconceito e o índice de massa corporal aos 11 e 12 anos. Foram aplicados questionários validados para avaliar a resiliência (CD-RISC) e o autoconceito (AF-5). Os dados foram analisados através do software estatístico IBM SPSS 28.0 com testes paramétricos. Resultados. Existem associações positivas entre o nível de resiliência e as dimensões do autoconceito. Além disso, as raparigas pré-adolescentes reportaram pontuações mais elevadas tanto nas dimensões do autoconceito académico e social, como no nível de resiliência. Conclusões. Esta investigação destacou a importância de intervenções e programas que ajudem os alunos a fortalecer a sua resiliência e a melhorar o seu autoconceito.
