Resumo

O desporto desempenha um papel importante na melhoria da saúde humana e da situação financeira, particularmente nos desportos competitivos. Também está intimamente relacionado ao prestígio de uma região ou país. Para alcançar resultados máximos, é necessária orientação adequada, que pode ser fornecida pelas partes relevantes. Os decisores políticos exigem um sistema de treino específico baseado nas características dos diferentes desportos, que deve ser realizado de forma contínua com etapas sistematicamente organizadas. Com numerosos desportos disponíveis, pode ser um desafio monitorizar o progresso e a avaliação de cada desporto. Portanto, é necessário categorizar os esportes com base em suas características. Esta pesquisa visa formar categorias de esportes que se adaptem às diversas características de cada esporte. A pesquisa utiliza método qualitativo descritivo. Os esportes utilizados como referência são os disputados nos Jogos Olímpicos, bem como os disputados na Indonésia, especialmente na Semana Nacional do Esporte (PON). A amostra inclui 39 esportes. Após análise das características dos esportes, foram desenvolvidas as seguintes categorizações: esportes de precisão, artes marciais, esportes radicais, esportes de avaliação, esportes de jogo, esportes de raquete e esportes mensuráveis.
