Publicação de investigação sobre o desenvolvimento de atletas a longo prazo: revisão sistemática e análise bibliométrica da base de dados Scopus em 2009 – 2023

Este estudo investiga o desenvolvimento e o impacto da investigação sobre o Desenvolvimento de Atletas a Longo Prazo (LTAD). O estudo foi realizado através de análise bibliométrica e revisão sistemática. Foram selecionados 100 artigos de investigação com maior número de citações publicados entre 2009 e 2023, extraídos das bases de dados de revistas de investigação SCOPUS utilizando as palavras-chave "Long Term Athlete Development" e "LTAD". Além disso, 10 artigos com maior número de citações foram investigados através de métodos de revisão sistemática. O estudo destaca a predominância de artigos de revistas como principal meio de discurso sobre LTAD, com uma notável taxa média de citações que sublinha a sua influência. O Reino Unido (Reino Unido) lidera em contribuições e citações. A distribuição geográfica mostra a participação global e as diversas perspetivas no inquérito da LTAD. O exame revela um foco inicial no treino desportivo fundamental e nas funções de coaching, que se expande progressivamente para incluir aplicações práticas de LTAD, dinâmicas demográficas e sociais e nuances fisiológicas. Esta trajetória demonstra uma abordagem multidisciplinar que integra vários aspetos do desenvolvimento do atleta. A necessidade de uma investigação longitudinal mais abrangente é também enfatizada para fornecer suporte empírico aos princípios da LTAD numa variedade de contextos culturais e desportivos. Apesar da amplitude da investigação, são ainda necessários estudos empíricos e longitudinais para confirmar a eficácia dos modelos LTAD em vários contextos culturais e desportivos. A revisão defende uma maior colaboração internacional para consolidar ainda mais a investigação e a prática da LTAD, promovendo uma compreensão holística e inclusiva do desenvolvimento dos atletas que integre o género e a inclusão social.
