Efeitos do treino resistido variável na funcionalidade de pessoas com perturbações musculoesqueléticas: uma revisão sistemática

Introdução e objetivo: O treino de resistência variável (TRV) é uma metodologia de treino comummente utilizada para aumentar a força muscular, mas os seus efeitos na funcionalidade em indivíduos com distúrbios musculoesqueléticos têm sido pouco investigados. Esta revisão sistemática tem como objetivo avaliar os efeitos da TRV na funcionalidade destes indivíduos.
Metodologia: Foi realizada uma pesquisa em quatro bases de dados (EBSCO, Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed), resultando em 694 estudos, dos quais 7 foram selecionados para análise. Os estudos incluíram doentes com diversas disfunções musculoesqueléticas, como lombalgias, osteoartrite e próteses do joelho.
Resultados: Os resultados mostram que a TRV melhorou significativamente a força em três estudos, a dor em quatro e a funcionalidade global em todos os estudos avaliados. Além disso, foram observadas melhorias no equilíbrio e na velocidade da marcha. Apesar dos resultados promissores, a heterogeneidade dos protocolos e as diferenças nas avaliações limitam a generalização dos achados. Conclusões: Conclui-se que a VRT pode ser uma intervenção eficaz para melhorar a funcionalidade em indivíduos com perturbações músculo-esqueléticas, mas são necessários estudos adicionais para confirmar a sua eficácia em diferentes contextos.
