Linguagem corporal e palavras: uma análise multimodal da comunicação de atletas de elite

Introdução: Os desportos de competição, especialmente o badminton de elite, são ricos em interações comunicativas complexas. Para além das capacidades técnicas e físicas, a dinâmica da comunicação desempenha um papel crucial no desfecho de um jogo. Este estudo analisa a comunicação multimodal, ou seja, a interação de vários modos de comunicação como a linguagem verbal, as expressões faciais e os movimentos corporais num jogo de badminton.
Objectivo: Examinar a comunicação multimodal numa partida de elite de badminton.
Método: Este estudo qualitativo com uma abordagem multimodal explora o significado da interação de sinais linguísticos e cinésicos em momentos cruciais da final de pares masculinos do PON 2024 na Indonésia. Uma análise aprofundada do estudo de caso revela o contributo da fala, da entoação, das expressões faciais e dos movimentos corporais para a dinâmica da comunicação no desporto de competição. Os dados foram retirados de uma gravação de vídeo do YouTube de 2024 (59:40 minutos, 5:40:10-6:39:50). A análise multimodal sistemática passou por três etapas: (1) sincronização das transcrições linguísticas e cinésicas com o vídeo, (2) desenvolvimento de uma estrutura de codificação de sinais e (3) análise temática dos temas principais.
Resultados: A comunicação não verbal (expressões faciais, movimentos corporais) é mais dominante do que a comunicação verbal, o que reflete a complexidade da interação dos atletas. As funções não verbais transmitem emoções, criam espírito de equipa e estabelecem estratégias. As diferenças nos padrões de comunicação entre equipas afetam o desempenho e a dinâmica da equipa.
Conclusão: A análise da comunicação não verbal é importante para compreender o desempenho dos atletas e a interação da equipa. Este estudo contribui para o desenvolvimento da teoria e prática linguística multimodal no treino de atletas, melhorando a compreensão da dinâmica da equipa e desenvolvendo estratégias de jogo eficazes.
