Avaliação dos preditores dos estilos de vida em estudantes universitários da Amazónia peruana: um estudo transversal

Introdução: atualmente, os estilos de vida desempenham um papel importante na saúde física e mental, uma vez que influenciam a qualidade de vida, o bem-estar e o desempenho das pessoas. No ambiente universitário, fatores como a depressão, a ansiedade e o stress podem afetar negativamente os hábitos de vida, alterando o equilíbrio e o bem-estar geral.
Objectivo: determinar se a depressão, a ansiedade e o stress predizem o estilo de vida dos estudantes universitários da Amazónia peruana.
Metodologia: Foi realizado um estudo quantitativo, não experimental, preditivo e transversal. A amostra foi constituída por 652 estudantes selecionados através de uma amostragem probabilística aos quais foi aplicada a Escala de Depressão, Ansiedade e Stress (DASS-21) e o Perfil de Estilo de Vida (PEPS-I), instrumentos com propriedades psicométricas adequadas.
Resultados: Verificou-se que apenas a depressão tem um efeito preditivo significativo nos estilos de vida (β= -0,420, p< 0,01), indicando que um nível mais elevado de depressão está associado a piores estilos de vida. Além disso, o modelo ajustou-se adequadamente aos dados (F = 78,218, p < 0,01), explicando 26,2% da variabilidade nos estilos de vida (R² = 0,262).
Discussão: Embora alguns estudos apoiem estes resultados, são necessárias mais pesquisas para confirmar estes resultados e analisar como a depressão, a ansiedade e o stress interagem com outros factores do estilo de vida.
Conclusões: determinou-se que a depressão prediz significativamente o estilo de vida dos estudantes universitários da Amazónia peruana.
