Controlo neuromuscular do membro inferior como fator de risco para lesão do ligamento cruzado anterior em jogadores de basquetebol

Introdução: A ineficácia do controlo neuromuscular tem sido considerada um importante fator de risco para lesões no desporto, como na lesão do ligamento cruzado anterior, afetando também a capacidade do sujeito em desenvolver corretamente as suas capacidades desportivas.
Objectivo: Avaliar o controlo neuromuscular do membro inferior em atletas de basquetebol, uma vez que a sua identificação precoce é de primordial importância para categorizar o seu perfil de risco para a lesão do ligamento cruzado anterior.
Metodologia: Nesta investigação são propostos dois gestos que submetem o atleta a desenvolver um correto controlo neuromuscular: mudança de direção e desaceleração. Estas avaliações são realizadas através de análise de vídeo 2D.
Resultados: Foram avaliados 39 jogadores de basquetebol (15 mulheres e 24 homens) entre os 11 e os 18 anos de idade, sendo que uma elevada percentagem apresentou um controlo neuromuscular inadequado, principalmente nos gestos de mudança de direção, principalmente nas variáveis ângulo de projeção do joelho no plano frontal e na relação do joelho com a força de reação do solo.
Discussão: As variáveis que obtiveram maior percentagem na categoria inadequado estão diretamente relacionadas com os fatores incidentais da lesão do ligamento cruzado anterior, pois provocam um valgo dinâmico excessivo no joelho.
Conclusão: Considera-se prioritário estabelecer avaliações periódicas destes factores, o mais próximo possível da realidade do jogador de basquetebol, para estabelecer planos de prevenção adequados e assim minimizar o risco de lesão.
