Efeitos do treino de resistência na economia da corrida: uma revisão sistemática e meta-análise

Resumo

Introdução: A economia de corrida (EC) é um fator determinante no desempenho dos corredores de fundo, influenciando a eficiência e o gasto energético. O treino de resistência tem sido proposto como uma estratégia para melhorar a EC, embora a sua eficácia ainda seja debatida.

Objectivo: Rever sistemática e meta-analiticamente estudos que avaliaram os efeitos do treino de resistência na CE em corredores de fundo (≥10 km).

Metodologia: Foi realizada uma pesquisa sistemática na PubMed, Web of Science e Scopus, sem restrições de data, até março de 2024. Foram analisados os manuscritos que cumpriam os critérios de inclusão.

Resultados: Dos 895 estudos encontrados, foram incluídos 8. O risco de viés foi avaliado e as diferenças de médias padronizadas (DMPs) ponderadas pela variância inversa foram calculadas para estimar o efeito global do treino de resistência na EC, com IC de 95%. Foram analisados 80 indivíduos (idade: 36,2 ± 6 anos; VO₂máx: 49,2 ± 4 ml·kg⁻¹·min⁻¹). A intensidade média do treino foi de 83% de 1RM (± 7,5%). O treino de resistência melhorou significativamente a CE (p = 0,003, d = 0,47). A intensidade, a duração do protocolo e a especialidade da corrida influenciaram positivamente os resultados.

Discussão: Os resultados corroboram que o treino de resistência melhora a CE em corredores de fundo.

Conclusões: A estrutura do treino influencia os resultados, sendo necessários mais estudos para investigar melhor os seus efeitos.
