Potência, velocidade e flexibilidade dos estudantes da Universidade Industrial de Santander

Resumo

Introdução: Os benefícios da potência, velocidade e flexibilidade para um desempenho e saúde ideais estão bem estabelecidos. A aptidão física entre os estudantes universitários tende a diminuir à medida que progridem nos seus cursos académicos.

Objectivo: Determinar a relação entre potência, velocidade e flexibilidade em estudantes da Universidade Industrial de Santander.

Metodologia: Foi realizado um estudo quantitativo, transversal e correlacional. Os participantes foram estudantes com mais de 18 anos que responderam ao questionário do estudo. A altura, o peso, a flexibilidade, a potência e a velocidade foram determinados através de testes físicos. As análises estatísticas descritivas e as correlações dos dados foram realizadas com recurso ao software SPSS.

Resultados: Foram analisados ​​​​199 estudantes (média de idade 20,13 ± 2,19 anos; peso 63,77 ± 10,94 kg; altura 168,68 ± 8,66 cm). Foi encontrada uma correlação positiva (r = 0,712) entre a potência do salto vertical com contramovimento (CMJ) (W) e a velocidade máxima (m/s) no sprint de 30 m, enquanto a flexibilidade apresentou uma correlação negativa não significativa com a potência do CMJ (r = -0,005) e com a velocidade máxima (r = -0,050).

Discussão: Os resultados deste estudo são consistentes com as correlações reportadas noutros estudos entre a potência do CMJ (W) e a velocidade aos 30 m (r = -0,719) e entre a altura do CMJ e a velocidade aos 30 m (r = -0,731).

Conclusão: Na população estudada, foi encontrada uma correlação positiva entre a potência do CMJ e a velocidade máxima no sprint de 30 m.
