O aumento das exigências cognitivas durante um jogo cooperativo-competitivo pode reduzir as desigualdades de género na participação

Resumo

Introdução: A Educação Física contribui para a construção social do género, especialmente através de atividades com componentes relacionais, onde a participação é influenciada por estereótipos e expectativas sociais. As diferenças de género na participação em jogos e desportos tradicionais variam de acordo com características como a estrutura competitiva, as regras e as exigências cognitivas.

Objectivo: Analisar como as exigências cognitivas nos jogos motores influenciam as diferenças de género na participação.

Metodologia: Foi utilizado um desenho transversal descritivo com 123 participantes de três faixas etárias (crianças, adolescentes e jovens adultos). Recorrendo ao jogo "Capturar a Bandeira", foram comparados dois contextos: uma versão tradicional e uma versão cognitivamente enriquecida. Os comportamentos baseados no género foram analisados ​​através de observação sistemática, com foco nos papéis ofensivos e defensivos.

Resultados: No jogo tradicional, os rapazes adotaram mais frequentemente papéis ofensivos e as raparigas, posições defensivas, refletindo padrões estereotipados. À medida que as exigências cognitivas aumentaram, estas diferenças diminuíram. A idade modulou estes efeitos, com os participantes mais velhos a demonstrarem maior adaptabilidade aos desafios cognitivos, consistente com a maturação das funções executivas.

Discussão: A influência das restrições sociais pode ser reduzida quando as exigências cognitivas do jogo são aumentadas, levando a um maior equilíbrio na participação.

Conclusões: Os resultados sugerem que o aumento das exigências cognitivas dos jogos motores pode reduzir as desigualdades de género na participação e que a incorporação de atividades cognitivamente estimulantes pode promover uma participação mais inclusiva e equitativa.
