Efeitos de um programa escolar de coordenação motora no desempenho do teste KTK em crianças dos 8 aos 9 anos de idade

Resumo

Introdução: As competências de coordenação motora refletem a eficácia com que uma criança integra a informação sensorial — como a orientação visoespacial, os estímulos vestibulares e o feedback propriocetivo — para controlar o movimento.

Objectivo: Este estudo teve como objectivo examinar o efeito de um programa estruturado de 12 semanas, desenvolvido para melhorar as capacidades de coordenação através da estimulação dos processos sensório-percetivos em crianças dos 8 aos 9 anos de idade.

Metodologia: Participaram no estudo 146 crianças de três escolas públicas do ensino básico da zona urbana de Shkodra (75 rapazes e 71 raparigas), divididas num grupo experimental (n = 77) e num grupo de controlo (n = 69). A coordenação motora foi avaliada através do Körperkoordinationstest für Kinder (KTK), composto por quatro subtestes.

Resultados: O grupo experimental apresentou uma melhoria significativa em todos os subtestes (p < 0,001), com grandes efeitos intragrupo (dz de Cohen = 0,91-1,62). No pós-teste, o grupo experimental apresentou um desempenho superior ao grupo de controlo em todos os testes (p<0,001; d de Cohen = 0,74-1,17). As melhorias no grupo experimental foram consistentemente superiores às do grupo de controlo (p<0,001), com efeitos expressivos (d de Cohen = 1,08-2,07), o que demonstra um efeito claro do programa para além da maturação normal.

Discussão: Os resultados são consistentes com a literatura sobre o desenvolvimento motor. A utilização do KTK como instrumento validado garante que estes resultados possam ser interpretados com elevada fiabilidade.

Conclusões: Este estudo demonstra que um programa estruturado de coordenação sensório-motora melhora significativamente a coordenação motora ampla em crianças dos 8 aos 9 anos de idade.
