A atividade física como fator protetor contra as perturbações de ansiedade em adolescentes com dependência das redes sociais: uma análise multivariada no contexto da Educação Física

Introdução: O rápido crescimento do uso das redes sociais entre os adolescentes tem sido associado ao aumento das perturbações de ansiedade. Apesar da vasta investigação sobre a dependência digital e a saúde mental, pouca atenção tem sido dada ao papel da atividade física, no contexto da Educação Física (EF), como fator de proteção contra a ansiedade em adolescentes com dependência das redes sociais.
Objectivo: Este estudo visa examinar a relação entre a dependência das redes sociais e as perturbações de ansiedade, bem como investigar o papel protetor da atividade física no contexto da EF.
Metodologia: Foi utilizado um desenho transversal, envolvendo 1500 adolescentes (idade média = 15,42 ± 1,67 anos). Os dados foram recolhidos através de instrumentos validados que mediram a dependência das redes sociais, as perturbações de ansiedade e os níveis de atividade física. As análises estatísticas incluíram a Análise Fatorial Confirmatória (AFC), testes de fiabilidade e Modelação de Equações Estruturais (MEE).
Resultados: A dependência das redes sociais previu significativamente as perturbações de ansiedade (β = 0,48; p < 0,001). A atividade física apresentou uma associação negativa significativa com a ansiedade (β = -0,36; p < 0,001) e atuou como moderadora, atenuando a relação entre o vício das redes sociais e as perturbações de ansiedade (interação β = -0,18; p < 0,001). O modelo apresentou bons índices de ajuste (CFI = 0,95; TLI = 0,94; RMSEA = 0,052; SRMR = 0,041).
Conclusões: A atividade física desempenha um papel protetor significativo na redução da ansiedade em adolescentes com dependência de redes sociais. A integração de atividades físicas estruturadas nos programas de Educação Física pode ser uma estratégia eficaz para promover a saúde mental no meio escolar.
