Introduction: Motor profile assessment is a tool that allows for a realistic diagnosis of motor performance. This type of assessment should not only serve as a grading criterion; it should be a strategy for improving pedagogical processes with this population.
Objective: To establish the motor profile of schoolchildren with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities in the municipality of Fusagasugá, Colombia.
Methodology: The sample consisted of 52 children. Information was obtained through psychopedagogical records and evaluation using the Gross Motor Development Test, version 3. The data were subjected to descriptive and correlational statistical processing using a Random Forest classifier and a confusion matrix.
Results: The gross motor performance profiled reported 47 children at an average level, 2 above average, one below average, and 2 bordering on retardation.
Discussion: The instruments demonstrated applicability in the assessment of this population, facilitating the establishment of classification profiles. The confusion matrix and the Random Forest classifier highlight the difficulties this model faces in classifying individuals into intermediate ranges of equivalent and chronological age. The motor profile is characterized by demonstrating average motor performance levels.
Conclusions: The impact that access to formal education has had on the motor performance of children with intellectual disabilities is evident. The TGDM-3 test can be considered a tool that can be used to assess the motor performance of this population.
