The educational camp as a setting for strengthening social skills

This article condenses the results of the reflections generated around an investigative process - still ongoing - that seeks to determine the way in which educational camps improve the strengthening of social skills. The research adopted the case study methodology. However, the aspects that motivated this publication, are derived from the debates of the research group, during the bibliographic review required for the construction of the state of the art, the categories of analysis and the elaboration of the conceptual framework of the project that, to date, has allowed to recognize the virtues of educational camps. In this sense, it is necessary to consider assertiveness as one of the social skills to be strengthened in educational camps; Likewise, it is essential to promote the guidelines that regulate the behavior of that micro-society constituted in the camp, which is pertinent to guarantee the peaceful coexistence of the campers. Identifying, according to the camping experiences developed in the municipality of Villavicencio - Colombia, the four ideal moments or scenarios of this practice, to start the act of educating, as well as, the possible actions taken by the participants, to generate conducive reflections to strengthening skills. Finally, the conclusions reflect the feasibility of articulating the camps to the curricular designs of educational institutions.
