O efeito dos recursos sociais e organizacionais na força mental dos atletas: investigando o papel dos recursos psicológicos pessoais

Introdução: Embora vários estudos tenham explorado o desenvolvimento e a dinâmica da força mental, existe uma notável fuga de investigação que abrange estes aspetos numa perspetiva baseada nos recursos. Objectivo: O estudo teve como objectivo investigar o papel dos recursos psicológicos pessoais na relação entre os recursos sociais e organizacionais com a força mental em atletas do ensino secundário. Através da lente da Teoria da Conservação de Recursos (COR), esta investigação examina o impacto dos recursos externos, como o apoio familiar, os amigos, os treinadores e as organizações, e os atributos psicológicos internos, como a esperança, a eficiência, a resiliência e o otimismo, que contribuem para o desenvolvimento da força mental. Metodologia: Participaram no estudo um total de 644 jogadores de equipas desportivas de escolas secundárias da região de Mindanao del Norte, Filipinas. Resultados: Os resultados mostraram que os recursos psicológicos pessoais funcionaram como mediadores na relação entre os recursos sociais e organizacionais e a força mental dos alunos atletas. Especificamente, os atletas que informam que recebem mais recursos da sua rede social e organização apresentam um aumento dos seus retornos psicológicos pessoais (esperança, eficácia, resiliência e otimismo), o que contribuiu para uma maior força mental. Conclusões: Este estudo enfatiza a importância de um ambiente de apoio no desenvolvimento da força mental dos atletas e fornece implicações práticas para as organizações desportivas, educadores e treinadores na criação de intervenções que melhorem os recursos psicológicos pessoais e, em última análise, a força mental.
