Níveis de stress versus avaliação individual em atividades ginásticas

Resumo

Introdução: O stress académico entre estudantes tem sido relacionado com fatores como o género, as notas nos exames finais e as estratégias de coping utilizadas, resultando numa interação complexa entre estes e o bem-estar mental.

Objectivo: Analisar os níveis e manifestações de stress entre estudantes universitários face a actividades avaliativas individuais de carácter prático, relacionadas com conteúdos de ginástica, de acordo com o género.

Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, de natureza quantitativa, no qual participaram 54 alunos de Ciências da Atividade Física e do Desporto. Para a recolha de informação, foi aplicado o Inventário de Stress Académico (IEA) previamente à avaliação da execução técnica individual.

Resultados: A perceção subjetiva do stress foi maior no género feminino em termos de resposta fisiológica, cognitiva e motora. Por outro lado, o fator manifestação cognitiva de stresse apresentou o nível mais elevado de pontuações de resposta, sendo este tipo de sintomatologia o mais generalizado entre os géneros.

Discussão: A população universitária apresenta um nível de stress moderado perante atividades avaliativas de ginástica de carácter individual, sendo as manifestações cognitivas as mais notáveis. Neste sentido, as atividades de avaliação de natureza coletiva, com natureza coeducativa, podem ser uma alternativa para reduzir a pressão.

Conclusões: Os futuros profissionais da atividade física e do desporto devem dispor de ferramentas adequadas para melhorar a gestão da ansiedade e do stress dos alunos face às diversas atividades de avaliação individual.
