Efeitos do treino de curta duração na aptidão aeróbia e anaeróbia em jogadores de futebol universitário

Objectivo: Este estudo investiga a eficácia de quatro semanas de treino de velocidade intermitente (INT) e treino em circuito (TC) no desempenho aeróbio e anaeróbio em jogadores de futebol universitários.
Metodologia: Os participantes foram aleatoriamente e igualmente alocados a um de dois grupos de treino (INT ou CT). Ambos os grupos completaram o regime padrão de treino de futebol, complementado pelos respetivos programas de treino, ao longo das quatro semanas. O consumo máximo de oxigénio (VO₂máx), a capacidade anaeróbia (CA) e a potência anaeróbia foram avaliados como indicadores primários do desempenho aeróbio e anaeróbio, respetivamente. Além disso, as concentrações de lactato sanguíneo foram medidas nos minutos 0 e 3 após um teste de velocidade repetido.
Resultados: Uma ANOVA de medidas repetidas revelou melhorias significativas no VO₂máx (p = 0,004) e na CA (p = 0,009) após o período de treino de quatro semanas, sem diferenças significativas entre as duas intervenções. Notavelmente, observou-se um aumento significativo da potência anaeróbia mínima (Pmin) (p = 0,043), apesar da maior acumulação de lactato em comparação com os níveis pré-treino, sugerindo uma maior capacidade de manter a velocidade em condições de fadiga muscular.
Conclusão: Estes achados indicam que ambos os métodos de treino são eficazes na melhoria do desempenho aeróbico e anaeróbico em jogadores de futebol universitário. No entanto, os mecanismos fisiológicos subjacentes que explicam as respostas e adaptações a estas modalidades de treino requerem uma investigação mais aprofundada.
