Resumo

Introdução: O equilíbrio, as habilidades motoras finas e as habilidades motoras grossas são os três componentes da capacidade motora que são necessários para uma vida independente, para a realização de tarefas diárias e para o envolvimento ativo com o mundo exterior. São essenciais para a saúde física, mobilidade e coordenação. Ao incentivar o autocuidado, a exploração e a participação em desportos e atividades físicas, também influenciam o desenvolvimento social e cognitivo, bem como o bem-estar emocional.

Objetivo: Este estudo investigou o efeito do treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade versus treinamento contínuo de moderada intensidade na força e flexibilidade dos braços em atletas universitárias.

Metodologia: Quarenta e cinco atletas (N=45) do sexo feminino, com idade: 18,58 ± 0,29, altura: 165,18 ± 0,75 e peso: 62,38 ± 1,13, foram aleatoriamente designadas para um dos três grupos: Grupo de Treinamento Intervalado de Alta Intensidade (GTIHI), Grupo de Treinamento Contínuo de Intensidade Moderada (GTCIM) e Grupo Controle (GC). O período de treinamento foi limitado a três dias por semana durante doze semanas. Dentre os componentes da capacidade motora, a força e a flexibilidade dos braços foram selecionadas como variáveis ​​dependentes. A força dos braços foi mensurada por meio do teste de flexões de braços e a flexibilidade foi avaliada por meio do teste de sentar e alcançar.

Resultados: Os treinos HIIT e MICT são úteis e eficazes para atletas. No entanto, análises comparativas mais abrangentes são necessárias para fazer recomendações personalizadas para atletas do sexo feminino, a fim de determinar qual método de treinamento é a escolha mais adequada para seus objetivos.
