Resumo

Antecedentes: O nanismo é um problema de crescimento que ocorre em crianças devido à deficiência nutricional crônica durante um longo período de tempo. Este problema de saúde ocorre com frequência na sociedade e é muito preocupante. Infelizmente, o seu impacto no desenvolvimento das crianças ainda não é totalmente compreendido. As habilidades motoras estão frequentemente associadas ao estado nutricional das crianças. Essas habilidades são importantes para as crianças como base para sua capacidade de movimentação durante a realização de atividades. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar diferenças nas habilidades motoras de crianças com diagnóstico de baixa estatura e sem baixa estatura. Método: Esta pesquisa utilizou uma abordagem comparativa. A amostra foi composta por 48 crianças com critérios de idade de 3 a 5 anos. Essas crianças foram divididas em grupo com diagnóstico de baixa estatura (N=24) e grupo sem baixa estatura (N=24). As habilidades motoras das crianças foram medidas por meio do teste de habilidades motoras TGMD-2 (Test of Gross Motor Development-2). O teste foi testado quanto à validade e confiabilidade antes de ser distribuído aos participantes. O teste de Shapiro-Wilkoxon foi utilizado para verificar a distribuição normal dos dados. Resultados e Discussão: O estudo mostrou uma diferença significativa entre crianças diagnosticadas com baixa estatura e crianças sem baixa estatura em comparação (P<0,05). Foi relatado que crianças com diagnóstico de nanismo tinham habilidades motoras mais baixas, em média, no Quontient Motor Brutox̄87. Este valor está abaixo da categoria média, enquanto as crianças sem retardo de crescimento apresentam Quontient Motor Brutox̄111,125, que está além da categoria média. Nas crianças do sexo masculino com baixa estatura, o maior desempenho foi na habilidade de movimento de chute com valor de ±4,25, enquanto o menor desempenho foi na habilidade de galope com valor de ±2,00. Para as meninas com baixa estatura, o melhor desempenho foi na habilidade de controle de objetos, golpeando uma bola parada com valor de ±3,53. Por outro lado, o menor desempenho foi na habilidade de galope, com valor de ±1,32. Em termos de habilidades motoras, os meninos normais tiveram melhor desempenho que as meninas em saltar, saltar e deslizar (P<0,05). Para os meninos sem baixa estatura, o maior desempenho foi nas habilidades de movimento de salto com valor de ±7,05, enquanto o menor foi nas habilidades de drible estacionário com valor de ±4,77. As meninas sem baixa estatura assemelharam-se aos meninos, pois o desempenho mais alto foi na habilidade de salto locomotivo com um valor de ±7,67, enquanto o desempenho mais baixo foi na habilidade de rolamento por baixo com um valor de ±5,11. Em termos de habilidades motoras, as crianças sem baixa estatura tiveram melhor desempenho do que meninos e meninas com baixa estatura (P<0,05). Conclusão: Houve diferenças significativas nas habilidades motoras entre os dois grupos. Crianças diagnosticadas com retardo de crescimento têm habilidades motoras mais baixas em comparação com crianças sem retardo de crescimento. Esses resultados proporcionam uma melhor compreensão do impacto da baixa estatura no desenvolvimento motor das crianças. Esta pesquisa também enfatiza a importância da intervenção precoce para melhorar as habilidades motoras de crianças com diagnóstico de baixa estatura. Estas descobertas têm potencial para esforços para prevenir e tratar o atraso no crescimento em crianças e promover o bem-estar do desenvolvimento geral das crianças.
