Introduction: In today's work environment, proactivity is considered an essential skill for achieving professional success, particularly in the field of physical culture and wellness, where excellence and customer satisfaction are fundamental. Objective: To develop and evaluate a training program aimed at strengthening proactivity, with the purpose of improving the work performance of physical culture instructors in a gym in Lima, Peru.
Methodology: The research employed a mixed-methods approach to examine the influence of developing proactivity on aspects such as efficiency, innovation, decision-making, and adaptability. A training program focused on proactivity was implemented, and the participants' work performance levels were compared before and after its application.
Results: The findings showed a positive and significant effect on the efficiency of the monitors, since the calculated t-value (tc=7.22) considerably exceeded the critical value (te=1.6973), demonstrating a statistically significant improvement after the intervention.
Conclusions: The training program based on proactivity proved to be effective in increasing the work efficiency of the monitors. Encouraging this skill promotes anticipation of difficulties, the seizing of opportunities, and taking initiative, thereby contributing to the enhancement of performance and service quality.
