Desarrollo vocacional y elección de carrera: implicaciones en la promoción de estilos de vida activos y saludables en estudiantes de nivelación universitaria

Resumen

Introducción: El desarrollo vocacional y la elección de carrera representan procesos clave en la transición hacia la educación superior y se relacionan con el bienestar integral del estudiantado. A su vez, los estilos de vida saludables influyen en la adaptación académica y en la salud física y psicológica.

Objetivo: El estudio analizó la relación entre el desarrollo vocacional, la elección de carrera y la promoción de estilos de vida activos y saludables en estudiantes de nivelación universitaria.

Metodología: La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo con diseño no experimental, transversal y alcance correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por ciento ochenta estudiantes de nivelación universitaria seleccionados mediante muestreo intencional. La recolección de información se realizó mediante un cuestionario estructurado que evaluó desarrollo vocacional, claridad en la elección de carrera y estilos de vida saludables. Los datos se analizaron mediante procedimientos estadísticos descriptivos y correlacionales.

Resultados: Los resultados mostraron niveles moderados de desarrollo vocacional y estilos de vida saludables en la mayoría de los estudiantes. Asimismo, se identificó una relación positiva entre el desarrollo vocacional y la claridad en la elección de carrera, así como una asociación significativa entre el desarrollo vocacional y la adopción de hábitos vinculados con la actividad física y el bienestar general.

Discusión: Los hallazgos coincidieron con investigaciones previas que señalan que la claridad vocacional se relaciona con mayores niveles de bienestar y organización de hábitos saludables en estudiantes universitarios.

Conclusiones: El desarrollo vocacional se relaciona con la adopción de estilos de vida saludables en estudiantes de nivelación universitaria.
