Atividade física e sedentarismo: mudanças durante o confinamento devido à pandemia de COVID-19 de acordo com a idade e doenças não transmissíveis

Resumo

Objetivo: Analisar as alterações na atividade física (AF) e no comportamento sedentário durante a pandemia de COVID-19, na população adulta segundo idade e doenças não transmissíveis. Método. Estudo transversal que incluiu n=1.334 indivíduos com idade entre 18 e 55 anos. O Questionário Internacional de Atividade Física (IPAQ-SF) foi aplicado por meio de pesquisa on-line para estimar o tempo (minutos/semana) em cada intensidade de AF e o total de METs/semana antes e durante o período de confinamento por COVID-19. Resultados. O total de METs/semana [mediana (intervalo interquartil, IQR)] diminuiu de 3.657 (1977, 5.466) para 1.059 (396, 2.225); o estilo de vida sedentário aumentou de 840 (0, 2.100) para 2.520 (1.680, 4.200) [p < 0,001]. A diminuição da AF foi observada principalmente naqueles com estilo de vida previamente ativo (≥3.000METs/semana). A idade esteve negativamente relacionada com esta mudança. Conclusão. Durante o confinamento, a AF diminuiu e o comportamento sedentário aumentou, principalmente em indivíduos mais jovens fisicamente ativos antes do confinamento e independentemente de sofrerem de doenças não transmissíveis.
